German Federal Foreign Office issues travel warning for three Spanish regions
Travellers queue in the departure area of the International Airport in Duesseldorf, Germany, 01 August 2020. During the holiday season, new infections with the coronavirus are also increasingly occurring in several European countries. Because of the sharp rise in the number of corona infections in Spain, the Federal Foreign Office is now warning against tourist travel to three regions of Germany's most popular holiday destination. According to a statement by the Federal Foreign Office, Catalonia, with its tourist metropolis Barcelona and the beaches of the Costa Brava, as well as the regions of Aragon and Navarre to the west of it in the interior of the country, are affected by the formal travel warning. Majorca and also the Canary Islands are not affected. EPA/SASCHA STEINBACH
